WHY DOES THE QURAN
DESCRIBE THE UNIVERSE
DIFFERENT TO THE SCIENCE?
Rising and Setting of the Sun
Surah 18:83–91
83 They ask you O Prophet about Ⱬul-Qarnain. Say, “I will relate to you something of his narrative.”
84 Surely We established him in the land, and gave him the means to all things.
85 So he travelled a course,
86 until he reached the setting point of the sun, which appeared to him to be setting in a spring of murky water, where he found some people. We said, “O Ⱬul-Qarnain! Either punish them or treat them kindly.”
87 He responded, “Whoever does wrong will be punished by us, then will be returned to their Lord, Who will punish them with a horrible torment. 88 As for those who believe and do good, they will have the finest reward, and we will assign them easy commands.”
89 Then he travelled a different course. 90 until he reached the rising point of the sun. He found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no shelter from it. 91 So it was. And We truly had full knowledge of him.
The Earth and Stars
Surah 21:30–32
30 Do the disbelievers not realise that the heavens and earth were once one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
31 And We have placed firm mountains upon the earth so it does not shake with them, and made in it broad pathways so they may find their way, and We have made the sky a well-protected canopy, still they turn away from its signs.
Surah 67:3
Who created seven heavens, one above the other. You will never see any imperfection in the creation of the Most Compassionate.1 So look again: do you see any flaws?
Surah 65:12
Allah is the One Who created seven heavens in layers, and likewise for the earth. The divine command descends between them so you may know that Allah is Most Capable of everything and that Allah certainly encompasses all things in His knowledge.
Surah 67:5
And indeed, We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and made them for stoning devils, for whom We have also prepared the torment of the Blaze.
Surah 79:27–30
27 Which is harder to create: you or the sky? He built it,
28 raising it high and forming it.
29 flawlessly He dimmed its night, and brought forth its day light.
30 As for the earth, He spread it out as well.
Surah 13:2–3
2 It is Allah Who has raised the heavens without pillars—as you can see—then established Himself on the Throne. He has subjected the sun and the moon, each orbiting for an appointed term. He conducts the whole affair. He makes the signs clear so that you may be certain of the meeting with your Lord.3 And He is the One Who spread out the earth and placed firm mountains and rivers upon it, and created fruits of every kind in pairs.1 He covers the day with night. Surely in this are signs for those who reflect.
Surah 20:65
Do you not see that Allah has subjected to you whatever is in the earth as well as the ships that sail through the sea by His command? He keeps the sky from falling down on the earth except by His permission. Surely Allah is Ever Gracious and Most Merciful to humanity.
Any person will understand from the above verses that the earth and the heavens were one mass, i.e., it is from solid materials and God separated them by His Mighty Power and made from them seven heavens and seven earths, one over the other (in layers), and levels the face of heaven and made it one thickness and raised it without pillars and holds it lest it fall on earth because He is so Merciful. Do the above verses agree with the science which tells us that the earth is spherical and the heaven is the void above us?
The Thunder and the Thunderbolts
Surah 13:13
The thunder glorifies His praises, as do the angels in awe of Him. He sends thunderbolts, striking with them whoever He wills. Yet they dispute about Allah. And He is tremendous in might.
The Quran declares and the scholars explain (exegesis) the above verse as: the thunder is an angel praising the Lord and tens of thousands of angels with him. But science proves it is the result of the electric charges of the clouds when they collide. What is your opinion? Are these true?
The Third Divorce in the Quran
Surah 2:230
And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him. And if the latter husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the woman and her former husband for returning to each other if they think that they can keep [within] the limits of Allah. These are the limits of Allah, which He makes clear to a people who know.
But in the Torah, it is completely different, WHY?
Deuteronomy 24:1–4
When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife.
3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;
4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
The Lord God says it is abomination and defilement to go back to the first husband. So why does the Quran say that a woman can return to her first husband but she must have sex with the second husband first? Can God not punish a man in some other way, rather than giving his wife to another man and living the rest of his life with this memory?
The sun sets in the far horizon and cannot be approached, and one cannot see the well’s (spring’s) wall nor the men. Also, the colour of the water, which does not evaporate, and how the people did not burn by the heat. Also, the sun rises on the whole face of the earth, not on some people first. Also, the size of the sun is more than one million times the size of the earth and millions of kilometres away from the earth, and it is not the size of the circular plate we see.
