THE QURAN AND THE BIBLE

The Third Divorce
 

Surah 2:230 And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him. And if the latter husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the woman and her former husband for returning to each other if they think that they can keep [within] the limits of Allah. These are the limits of Allah, which He makes clear to a people who know.

We compare this to the Torah which God gave to Moses:

Deuteronomy 24:1-4 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife. 3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; 4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

The Lord God says it is abomination and defilement to go back to the first husband. So why does the Quran say that she can return to her first husband but she must have sex with the second husband first? Can God not punish a man in some other way, rather than giving his wife to another man and living the rest of his life with this memory?

Having Sex With Dead Women
 

The Moroccan Sheik Abdel Bari Zam Zami, MP, made a fatwa which gave permission for a man to have sex with his dead wife. Also one of the members of the Egyptian parliament put a Bill to the Parliament to give permission for the husband of a dead wife to have sex with her during the first six hours. All the Egyptian media expressed their disgust and asked the Parliament not to look at this Bill nor discuss it. 

What is the basis of this fatwa? We can find its roots in the books

- “Kanz El Umal fi Sunan Alakwal wa Alafaal” by the devoted Indian (Hadith 34424) and

- “Aleknaa fi Hal Alfaz Abi Shogaa” part 2 page 521, and in 

- "Alhoggah fi Bian Almahaggah " by Abi Alkasem Alasfahani part 1, page 488 and Almogam Alwaseet part 7 page 87.

Heaven in Islam
 

Sura 52:17-19 ‘Burn ye therein; and whether you show patience or you show it not, it will be the same for you. You are requited only for what you used to do.’ 18 Verily, the righteous are in Gardens and in bliss, 19 Enjoying what their Lord has bestowed on them; and their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire.

Sura 55:72-74 Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will you twain deny? 73 Fair maidens with lovely black eyes, well-guarded in pavilions 74 Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will you twain deny? 75 Whom neither man nor Jinn will have touched before them

Sura 56:17-23 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 18 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring – 19 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated 20 And fruit of what they select 21 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 22 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 23 The likenesses of pearls well-protected

Sura 76:19-21 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 20 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 21 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.

We can see here that the Muslim male believer in paradise is married to many women and he is served by boys and they have everything to eat and drink. 

This is contrary to what the Bible says:

Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. 

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Why is the Quran so different from the Bible?

Torment of the Grave

The wife of the Apostle, Aisha, was visited by two elderly Jewish women who spoke with her about the torment of the grave. But she denied it and went to ask the apostle who acknowledged the torment. So Aisha said, “After that I saw the apostle always asking the Lord to spare him from the torment of the grave” 

The torment of the grave is that two good angels come to the good man in his tomb and question him about his faith and then put him into paradise. Two evil angels come to the evil man in his tomb and question him about his faith and severely punish him for his sins and then put him in hell. 

This is contrary to what the Bible says:

Luke 16:22-24 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

We can see here that, as soon as a person dies, he goes either to heaven or to hell. Is the “torment of the grave” far worse than hell?

Treatment of Women (Saheh Boukhari 4905)

Surah 4:34 Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. 

The Bible is completely different:

I Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own [and that would include the wife], and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

God has created Eve as a helper for Adam and made her from his ribs to be treated equally and near to his heart to be loved. And she is to reverence him with love and respect.

The Plagues of Egypt

Sura 17:101 And We had certainly given Moses nine evident signs, so ask the Children of Israel [about] when he came to them and Pharaoh said to him, "Indeed I think, O Moses, that you are affected by magic."

Sura 7:133 So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people.

But when we go back to the Bible in Exodus 6-12, we find there are 10 plagues and not 9, and the worldwide flood plague is not there. The 10 plagues are mentioned in the Bible in detail (Exodus 7:14-12:23): 1) Converting the water to blood, 2) Frogs; 3) Lice; 4) Flies; 5) Plague on the animals; 6) Boils on people; 7) Hailstones; 8) Locusts; 9) Darkness for 3 days; 10) Death of first-born. 

We cannot see here any flood. In addition, in Genesis 9:9 the Lord God made a covenant that He would never flood the whole world again and in verse 13 He said the rainbow would be a testimony to this fact. So, there can have been no worldwide flood in Egypt. Also, Israel would have been destroyed, not kept safe as in all the other plagues.

The Pillars of Islam

1.  Pilgrim - Surah 2:158,196 Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah . So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs 'umrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing. 196 And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allah. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals.

Before Islam, Arab pilgrims were travelling from all over the Arabic Desert to Mecca for their annual pagan rituals, and Islam has approved and continued all these practices.

2.  Friday Prayer - Friday was one of the greatest days in the tribe of Korish and they gathered to hear Kaap Ibn Loay the 7th grandfather of the Prophet Mohammad, addressing them. They were calling Friday the Arabian Day. It was the greatest day, but the Ansar called it Friday (meaning “gathering” because it was a day of gathering for the people.

3.  Fasting - Surah 2:183 O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.

The Sabeun were fasting during the month of Ramadan, worshipping the Moon God. They abstained from eating and drinking until sunset, and abstained from sex for the whole month from crescent moon to crescent moon. When it finished they made a feast calling it the Feast of Fetr. They were praying five times a day preceded by washing rituals. And when Islam came, it accepted and continued all this. 

However, in the Torah the Lord commanded Moses in:

Deuteronomy 12:1-3 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. 2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: 3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

Deuteronomy 7:25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God

Exodus 23:13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

We can see that the Lord instructed Moses to be very careful of accepting pagan tradition and worship, to utterly destroy those temples and not even to take the gold nor silver since it was considered abomination, nor even mention the names of those gods. But we can see that Kaabah is now the centre of the Islamic place of worship, which was full of 360 idols and all the present-day Islamic rituals were those originally done by the idol worshippers. How can we accept that? Can God change His mind like this? Impossible. 

Why does every mosque have a crescent on top, which is the sign of the moon god?

The Age of Christ

Surah 5:110 [The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity"

Surah 3:46 He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous.

This says Christ would speak in “maturity” which literally means “very old age” which Christ never reached since He finished his ministry on earth at age 33½.
