FREEDOM OF WORSHIP

Genesis 2:16–17

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

When God created Adam and Eve, He gave them freedom to obey Him or not. But with the deception of the devil, man fell into disobedience and then received the sentence of death.

When God gave the law through Moses the prophet, He urged them to choose life and blessing. And Christ gives liberty for people to follow Him by way of the cross.

The Quran also says in:

Surah 2:256 There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Surah 109:6 For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.

And in:

Surah 10:99 And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

Also, God said to Him, “You are only to warn the people”. But later Prophet Mohammad changed this to say that if anyone changes his religion kill him, and he also demanded that the infidel either accept Islam, or pay Jezia or be killed.

Does God accept forced worship or worship from a loving willing heart? Whoever accepts Islam to avoid being killed, is their conversion out of fear or out of complete conviction?
