THE SPREADING OF ISLAM
Sura 8: 39 And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevails justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.
Sura 47: 4 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost.
Sura 9: 29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
There are many Hadith which show what the Prophet Mohammad did:
In Mosnad Ahmed Hadith 6996 I came to you with slaughtering and I was sent to reap and not to cultivate.
In Sunan Etormozi Hadith 1553 I have been victorious by terror and granted the spoil
In Saheh Boukhari Hadith 1067 God made my living under the shadow of my spear and humiliated and belittled those who were against my orders.
It is a fact that Prophet Mohammed fought against all the tribes of the Arabian Desert and subdued them. He killed the men who opposed him and took spoil of the women and children and sold them for weapons. People were frightened of his dictatorship and submitted to Islam. After his death, many people left the Islamic religion, But Abu Bakr fought against them and compelled them to return to Islam.
Yet Christ never raised a sword against people nor did his followers. When Peter went to protect Jesus from the soldiers, Jesus rebuked Peter,
“Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.” (Matthew 26:52)
He preached love even to one’s enemies, peace and holiness. With the power of His Spirit and by the authority of His Words people were changed and Christianity spread all over the world.
